In Hebrews 13:2, we are encouraged to entertain strangers, as it is possible we could be entertaining angels unawares. Whether or not some we take in are truly angels from Heaven, there are times the kindness of strangers makes us wonder. Whether we’ve broken down on the side of the highway or dropped cash on the ground, it is those strangers who often come to our rescue that makes us take note and have faith there is some goodness left in this world.
Those who are kind to us when they owe us nothing possess a certain glory that even the world can recognize. When others would drive on by or pocket the fallen cash, those who do not are honest, caring, and loving individuals that make us want to be better people ourselves. If we have never known a kind stranger, let us endeavor to be the kind stranger.
