Lord,
Grant me tenacious winsome courage as I go through this day. When I am tempted to give up, help me to keep going. Grant me a cheerful spirit when things don't go my way. And give me the courage to do whatever needs to be done.

We need courage. In a world full of setbacks, fears, and competing interests, the temptation to sulk, complain, or play it safe is very real. The good news is that God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of love, power, and self-discipline.
So we come to Him for courage, not just in the moments of difficulty, but before the difficulty comes, so that we may be ready to forge ahead through whatever trials we face. And so that we may do so with joy and peace, confident in the power and grace of our God.
