"In all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight."
God’s ways are not our ways. His ways are perfect and beyond our understanding. Implied within this verse is the knowledge that when we go our own way, when we turn away from God and think we know best, we will make a mess of things and all our paths shall be hopeless and defeated. We’ll end up ruined, in the ditch, or by the wayside. This is not because God makes it so, rather, it is because when we do not submit to Him, we are in rebellion, and no good thing comes out of a rebellious heart.
Only by submitting to God and His will shall our paths become straight, true, and righteous. God is omniscient, therefore He knows every path, every outcome, every scenario. He alone is the only one who can lead us down a straight path through the chaos if we submit to Him in all our ways.
