"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope."

All the Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, were written in order to teach us, not only about God, but about how He interacts with us, fights for us, leads us, and gives us hope. The Scriptures are God’s autobiography, written by men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. As such, they are meant to teach us the consequences of walking away from God and the blessings of walking in the way of His righteousness. Therefore, God provides us with stories of His goodness, His rescue, His provision, and yes, even His wrath.

What does God love? How does God lead? How can we live in the light of His love? Thankfully we have a written record of what He requires, what He loves, and how He leads. His Word, as the psalmist says, is a lamp for our feet and a light on our path. Read it and be encouraged.
