When God provides the shelter of a home, no matter how small, gratitude toward Him should be the natural bent of our hearts. It is so easy to believe these things fall into our laps or that we gained them by our own strength. But Scripture tells us every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights (James 1:17). Therefore, even the roof over our heads is the providence of God.
When our hearts bend to Him in gratitude, we acknowledge not only His power to provide for us, but also His grace to care deeply for us. Psalm 61:3 says: "For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.". This let us understand that God Himself is our spiritual shelter, protecting us from our enemies.
Let us thank Him for all He has done to provide for us, not only with a roof over our heads, but for the Strongtower of His mighty name. The righteous run to Him, and are safe.
