When we pray the Lord’s Prayer, we ask for our daily bread. But do we pause to thank God for yesterday’s bread? Many of us do, perhaps before each meal, we offer a word of thanks. But we also know that we can ask God for our daily bread and count on Him to provide our needs. After all, He has proven His faithfulness over and over.
We pray to the God who supplied the Israelites with daily manna in the wilderness. And He is the same God who sent ravens to feed Elijah. He provides for some of us through our employment. Others, He feeds through a food bank or soup kitchen. Still, others may rely on friends, neighbors, and church families for meals.
No matter our circumstances, we can thank God for the daily bread that He provides, and for the people that He uses to supply our provision.
