Heavenly Father, Though in My Soul I Know Only Your Love...

Heavenly Father, though in my soul I know only Your love,

my heart I am profoundly burdened.

I submit myself to You in earnest, O Lord,

for my heart feels as if it is cloaked in a perpetual shadow that can only be dispelled by Your radiant presence.

I pray that You be my light in the darkness,

that I may be lifted from the darkness and be made anew in Your light.

Praise the Lord. Amen.

This is a prayer of someone with a very heavy heart, yet who still desires God's presence. It is a perfect prayer for those who are mourning or in dire situations. Saying this prayer is an acknowledgment of need, along with total submission, and a plea for God to shine forth. The prayer concludes with a request for renewal and restoration of the joy that the light of God brings.

A valuable lesson here is the importance of holding on to God and seeking His face even in trying times. Inviting the presence of God in any situation brings relief from trouble and solutions to challenges.
