Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed Be Your Name

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen."

Matthew 6:9-13

This prayer was spoken by our Lord Jesus to teach us how to pray. In it, He gives glory to God, prays God’s will and not our own, asks God for His provisions, His forgiveness, and His protection, and reminds us of God’s ultimate sovereignty.

When life gets rough and we lose sight of God, we pray this prayer to keep His purpose at the forefront of our thoughts. It elevates Him above the evil and the chaos and reminds us of who He is as the King of Glory.

We pray the Lord’s Prayer to bring hope to our hearts.
