My soul is downcast within me, God. My heart is burdened by this heavy load that I carry. Worn, and overwhelmed, I fall before you, for you are my only hope. Lift the grief, pain, and worry from me, Lord, that in you I may find solace and rest. Only you can satisfy my thirst and renew my strength. I praise you for your goodness and mercy. How often we get discouraged living our lives when trials, disappointments, and sorrows come. It is inevitable; even our Lord told us we would have tribulations in this world. But we are to take heart, as He has overcome this world. We pray this prayer to remember Christ has conquered it all and He is our only source of hope and strength.
Within our Lord is goodness and mercy, and He lavishes these upon His children even in the midst of the storm. Look unto Him, believer, and ask Him to bring you the rest and peace you so desperately need.
