Dear Lord, I am beset by a broken heart that I alone cannot make whole.
Yet I give You my thanks, for You are “He who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).
I find comfort in the soothing truths of Your word, for I know that even as I feel my soul sink into strife and solitude, Your light remains steadfast and can outshine even the deepest darkness.
Your light is the sustenance of my soul. I take refuge in the Lord, and I know You will never forsake me.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
A broken heart can be very difficult to restore. For some, the wounds take a long time to heal. For others, their brokenness of heart may last for a lifetime. God knows our frame so well that He makes a clear statement in this Psalm to assure His people that He can and will heal broken hearts. Weeping may last for a night, but His joy will dawn upon us in the morning.
Don’t go at it alone. Stop your futile attempts at fixing things. Come to our God of many chances. He will make you whole, and He will make all things new.
