Daily Prayer: Lord Jesus, Help Me Love Who You’ve Created Me to Be

Lord Jesus, help me love who You’ve created me to be. Help me to see what You see.

I know You do not make mistakes and everything in my life is going exactly as You have planned. It is so easy to believe the lies I tell myself, but Your Word says I have been loved from everlasting to everlasting.

Help me to feel and know Your love for me, so that I may love myself.

Sometimes life can steal the joy we have as children of God. Stumbling into sin can often cause us to question God’s love for us, and even the love we hold for ourselves.

However, our worth comes from being made in God’s image. Further, God will not abandon those who hold fast to their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has purchased His children upon the cross (1 Corinthians 6:20), and therefore we are His precious possession. Because of this, not one of His children will ever be lost to Him (John 10:28-30).

He loved you and died for you, Christian. It is in these truths you find love for yourself. If God is for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31)? Love springs from the God who is Himself love (1 John 4:8). Therefore, love God, love your neighbor, and thus you shall love yourself.
